Explanation

"high sky", "high heaven", ten takashi 天高し
Clear autumn sky, high autumn sky
..... shuukoo, aki takashi 秋高し
refers also to the bright blue sky of autumn. It is different from the English "high autumn".

空高し sora takashi, the heaven is high

This is one of my favorite kigo. It really brings out the joy of a cool crisp day after the long, humid summer!

The Autumn is high, aki takashi

this image comes from an old Chinese poem by To Shingen. He referred to the brave soldiers at the Northern fronts of China and their horses, but later the expression became known as a nature kigo in Japan.
